We understand and recognise that for many, an overseas trip is part of a shared dream. It is for this very reason that we have designed our boutique Mallorca trip to cater equally for riders and their non riding partners.
As part of the Après Vélo Cycling Tour experience, non-riding partners will be personally hosted daily by Naomi, with a select range of activities designed to showcase the best that Mallorca has to offer.
Naomi’s affinity towards Mallorca and her love of the local cuisine, shopping and surroundings will be sure to inspire.
Options for consideration are plentiful and here are but a few which are included with your package:-
A morning of Spanish cooking classes and culinary experiences hosted by food experts in professional kitchens, where you will learn how to make the great classics of traditional Spanish Cuisine.
SIGHTSEEING AND CITY TOURS
A visit around Palma de Mallorca, which is where the Mediterranean mingles with history. We will visit the awe-inspiring 13th century Santa María Cathedral which overlooks the bay, as well as wander through bent medieval streets lined with aristocratic townhouses, eclectic shops, looming baroque churches, teeming public squares and vibrant bohemian neighbourhoods. You could spend days in Palma and still uncover fresh joys every day, including its beautiful beaches.
OLD WORLD CHARM VILLAGES
Home to composer Frederic Chopin, Valldemossa is one of the island's most eye-catching sights. A village steeped in old-world charm, Valldemossa lies in an idyllic valley in the midst of the Tramuntana mountains. With a population of around 2,000 people, Valldemossa's quiet and picturesque streets are sprinkled with shops, art galleries, cafes and restaurants. We will stay for a few hours before continuing on towards Deia, another mountain village on the west coast that overlooks the sea and the setting sun.
We visit the Caves of Drach, which are one of the Islands main tourist attractions and considered one of the largest underground lakes in the world.
Live classic music from floating musicians makes exploring the Caves of Drach even more dramatic, from turquoise-colored water to soaring rock formations. A visit to the Caves of Drach are a must-see for first-time visitors to Mallorca.
HIKING AND WALKING
If you love to explore trails, beaches and stunning viewpoints, we will have some amazing walking experiences lined up for you, including the Cap Formentor lighthouse, with optional beach stops in between our scenic walks.
There are 262 stunning beaches on Mallorca, including many secluded white sandy beaches and coves. Whether you snorkel, swim or just chill, you will understand why so many tourists head to Mallorca for its beach life alone. At the quaint town of Port Soller, we board the Ferry and sail for one hour along the impressive west coast with the spectacular panorama of the Tramuntana mountain ranges. We arrive at Sa Colabra, and embark upon a scenic 10 minute walk to the famous remote Sa Calobra beach situated at the end of a gorge. It is one of the most famous spots on Majorca and has been an inspiration for artists in the past and present.
The winery we visit in the heart of Mallorca is the only bodega in Mallorca certified for bio-dynamic agriculture. As such, this little finca is bound to very strict standards in the production processes, ensuring wines of a very high quality. The bio-dynamic organic olive oils which are also produced here are of an equally outstanding quality.
COME ALONG FOR THE RIDE
Non riding partners will also have the opportunity of experiencing the beauty and uniqueness of each area we visit on bike, but in the comfort of our support vehicle. We would highly recommend some of these routes, based upon their epic beauty and quaint coffee shops, markets and memorable photo opportunities along the way.
